Dorozome is a traditional natural dyeing technique from Amami Oshima, using no chemical dyes — only extract from the teechigi tree (Rhaphiolepis) and iron-rich mud unique to the island. This ancient process creates deep, rich blacks and browns that synthetic dyes cannot replicate. As the iron and tannins bond with the fabric, each piece develops its own character over time. It's also a sustainable process, made in harmony with the island's natural ecosystem.
